Body Builders Guide to Becoming Motivated and Unstoppable (Part 2)

In Bodybuilders Guide to Becoming Motivated and Unstoppable Part 1, i discussed the first 4 things you need to do to get going and stick to your bodybuilding goals. Here I continue with the rest of the process.

5. Plan your concrete, step-by-step Action Plan and execute at least one action every day.

The key here is to always feel and know that you are moving closer and closer to your goals every day, that you’re making progress every day.

The only way to do this is by taking concrete actions every day. Basically, you’re training your mind and body to keep focused on the goal.

Don’t underestimate the power of this step.

A common mistake is perceiving each action you accomplish as ‘little’ or having ‘negligible’ worth or effect. Don’t be misguided! Each thing you do may appear small, but it’s the little things that make up the big stuff!

Stick to your day-to-day tasks and the rest of your bodybuilding dreams will follow.

6. Track and Measure your Progress – every single day.

You must have a reporting or tracking system of some kind.

It may be as simple as having a spreadsheet or a small notebook and recording the important details at the end of each day like:

  • your body weight
  • measurements of each body part
  • body fat percentage
  • what meals you’ve eaten that day
  • how much exercise you did

You must do this every day, regardless. Even when you didn’t exercise or even when everything you ate was crap, dead, junk fatty foods. In fact, you must write your report especially when you’ve screwed up! Because it’ll show you just how bad you’re slipping up and often serve as a reminder that you NEED to get back on track ASAP!

This technique is extremely helpful because you get to see your accomplishments. You get to see the choices you made each day, and you get a visual, concrete evidence of how you’re living up to your standards.

7. Get a strong support system  (and play an active part within that support system)

Get a mentor who had successfully achieved the bodybuilding goals you have set for yourself.

This is a quick and intelligent way to success because you can benefit from everything they have learned right away. No need for you to fall into the same mistakes they have.

Be careful whose advice you take, though. Make sure that you choose mentors who can guarantee you get the results you want. A mentor doesn’t have to be someone you can physically be with all the time, although this is ideal. Technically as long as you can learn from someone actively, you can make them your mentor.

Another great aspect of having a mentor is the support you get. Bodybuilding is tough and it’s a lot of hard work. Being in the company of like-minded people who understand what you are going through, and who can offer some help, advice, guidance and encouragement will make a tremendous difference.

You’ll be happy to know that Vince Del Monte’s Nononsense Muscle Building Success Kit includes a full access to the Nononsense Private Member Zone.  Likewise, Tom Venuto’s Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle include a Free subscription to the Burn The Fat Clients-Only Newsletter and The Burn The Fat Weekly Fat Loss Tips E-zine which can provide you with all the support you need.

And oh yeah- when you’ve learned enough and benefited enough from your mentors, go pay it forward!

  1. List everything in your life that you’re not going to put up with/tolerate/accept anymore.
Do you habitually make excuses? Overeat? Complain? Lie? Oversleep? Do you Procrastinate a lot? Do you have an addiction? Do you feel out of control? Focus on changing patterns of thinking, behaviour and actions that YOU make that are damaging you and other people.
  2. Truly Decide. Cut off all other options!
  3. Write your Big, Hairy, Audacious, Exciting, Lofty, Grand, Worthy, Amazing Goals Down – and truly commit to it.
  4. Bring yourself to commit to your goals on all levels – emotionally, intellectually, mentally, physically, spiritually – to achieving  the desired outcome!
Recite your affirmations. Visualize your goal. Live it and breathe it and focus on it!
  5. Plan your concrete, step-by-step Action Plan and execute at least one proactive task every single day.
  6. Track and Measure your Progress – every single day.
  7. Get a strong support system  (and play an active part within that support system)

If you’re really serious about bodybuilding, becoming motivated and unstoppable is your first crucial step.

Remember, it’s useless having the knowledge if you don’t have what it takes to ACT and make things happen. And to make things happen, you need the right tools and the right ‘mind technologies’ like the ones we’ve outlined here.

Fail to ‘get’ this, and you’re guaranteed to fail even before you start. The great news is that we’ve already done the research and found two resources for body builders that in our opinion are two of the best in the market right now.
