Hi Daniel,

Thanks for sharing your story with me; I really appreciate it. It’s something similar to what I’ve experienced, too, as you can see.

Being comfortable with your physique is a VERY important part of leading a confident life, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a more muscular, toned body for reasons of attracting the opposite sex. We put on fragrances, we comb our hair, we wear nice clothes and work hard to say the right things, when in the company of the opposite sex. Going to the gym is simply another tool we have in our arsenal to attract people to us.

Feeling uncomfortable in the gym is incredibly common. It’s easy to feel intimidated by guys twice the size of you (or bigger) lifting your body weight in on hand

But they don’t care about you, to put it bluntly. All you see when you look at these people is your own insecurity. All they see when they look at you is a person taking the time to commit to change.

When I see a skinny guy in the gym, I always wonder what they’ll look like if they keep up their training. I never, ever put them down, because all of us started out with un-chiselled shapes.

So next time you go to the gym, and you find yourself wondering what other people are thinking about you, instead realize that you’re projecting your insecurities and that it’s complete bullshit. Remember that they aren’t judging you—in fact they aren’t even aware of you, probably!

Focus enough on your desire, and it will come true. This means that you should take the time to really manifest the emotional and psychological leverage you need to commit and stay committed to your bodybuilding goals. I.e. How does it feel when a girl you fancy doesn’t even notice you? It feels rotten. It feels like you just want to go to the gym and clash dumbbells and bars for hours and hours until you’ve carved yourself out of steel!

I stuck to my goals and now I get attention from females every day. I wouldn’t say that I’m particularly good-looking, but the confidence that women find attractive comes a lot from being comfortable with my body, and I have the gym to thank for that.

Go ahead and try out Vince’s course. Also check out Sunwarrior protein (it’s all you’ll need—don’t get seduced by the marketing ploys of other supplements etc.) and let me know how you progress.

Add me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/therealclementyeung and it will be easier for me to discuss things with you.

Good luck bro!

Hey Clement,

Thanks for posting this entry on your personal journey to gaining weight and forming a better body. I am a skinny (Asian) guy from LA, now living abroad in Korea. I was trying to get myself to re-sign up for the gym, but definitely am lacking confidence and a belief in the results. Perusing through your site led me to Vince Del Monte's webpage, who seems like a real cool guy.

Regarding my personal journey. I've never really been into exercising. I come from a family of skinny Asian people, and my friends in college had way better bodies than me. I always felt a lack of confidence in the gym and in any activity that exposes the scrawniness of my body in any way. I thought that as an expat, I'd be able to easily meet girls here, but I find that they also don't give me a second chance out here. I'm not saying that a healthy looking body is the only answer, but it's something that I've desired to work for for a long time.

I'm considering purchasing Vince's package, but I'm wondering how effective it will be for me in a foreign country where I can't even really buy groceries at the store without having to do research on my smart phone regarding ingredients. I just read your post on negativity and must admit that it's something that plagues me. I want to begin thinking positively and own my destiny. Anyway, I just thought I'd give you a post since I really appreciate your insight and stories.

Blessings,

Daniel

Thanks for this post. The biceps always fascinated me (that’s why I made a website about it). For me it is really hard getting my biceps to grow, I eat very well and train very hard but they will not grow fast enough. I even had some problems with my biceps. You have to be very careful with injuries on the biceps tendon. If you train your biceps too much and it’s going to hurt a little you really have to stop and let them rest. Otherwise you will definitely end up with a biceps inflammation. And that really hurts, believe me!
