Natural Bodybuilding Diet Plan: Introduction
We should all know by now that to put on the maximum amount of muscle we need a natural, balanced, bodybuilding diet. Let me repeat that, just incase you missed it – to grow properly, we need a natural, balanced diet. So when we see people pumping themselves full of protein and restricting carbs to a minimum to ensure that every last ounce of fat is burned off, they’re either doing it for a very short period of time (such as before a competition) or they’re very stupid and they’re going to fail at putting on extra mass and probably fall ill from malnutrtion.
The best bodybuilders recognize that to get ripped they need to eat the right ratio of carbs, proteins, fats and plant foods. These are the guys that any wannabe pro should be modelling. Remember – are we ONLY looking to put on size, or are we aiming to look GOOD?
I did say fats above. Fats aren’t exactly what we’re conditioned by the mainstream media to believe they are. There are actually good fats that our bodies need to survive. These are called EFA’s, or Essential Fatty Acids that are found in a variety of foods (which I’ll highlight below). Fat burning is actually easier when we consume good fats – which may seem paradoxical. However, when we eat good fats, at the right times, we encourage our body to stop hoarding the fat so that when we work out, we can burn the fat as energy.
In a Danish study it was found that quality nutritional oil blend with the correct 2:1:1 ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 (EFAs) and omega-9 at the rate of 15ml per 25kg of bodyweight per day will:-
- Enhance stamina by 40 – 60%
- Improve muscular development (anabolic)
- Allow more frequent training without over training symptoms
- Speed recovery from exhaustion and training sessions.
- Speed healing of injuries
- Improve sleep in some athletes
- Improve concentration
- Improve skin conditions
- Improve cardiovascular function
- Lower cardiovascular function
- Lower the insulin requirements in people with type 1 diabetes.

Whenwe’re in the gym pushing our bodies to the limit we need everything to be working at the highest level, so please take the above into consideration when planning out your meals.
For the most effective natural bodybuilding diet plan to get ripped, Vince DelMonte (author of the No-Nonsense Muscle Building Program) says you should be aiming at eating 45-50% from carbs, 30-35% from proteins and 20-25% from fats (carbs meaning non-processed, refined carbs and fats meaning good fats).
Below you’ll find a list of the best fat burning foods for muscle growth. Eat these when you’re trying to pack on as much muscle as you can whilst maintaining a lean physique. These should be your foundation foods and anything else consumed should be secondary.

- Mackerel (great source of EFA’s)
Grains (breads, white or brown, are not great fat burning foods)
- Raw oatbran
- Rolled oats
- Brown Rice
- Quinoa (regarded as a superfood)
Seeds
- Flax (high in EFA’s)
- Sesame
- Pumpkin
Oils (to be used as marinade on salads etc.)

- Olive oil
Conclusion
Notice that there are only wholesome, natural foods in this list because refined, processed foods are normally full of preservatives, additives, flavorings and other toxins that will prohibit the body from functioning at optimal efficiency. When we eat wholesome, natural foods we allow toxins and other harmful materials that enter our bodies on a daily basis to exit quickly as opposed to being buffered in fat stores. We also maintain a healthier blood sugar level and lessen the risk of illness. The foods listed above are actually fat burning foods because of their ability to convince the body to release its stranglehold on our fat stores so that when we exercise we can use the fat as fuel.
It just goes to show that you can’t beat nature, even in a bodybuilding diet!
